The organization earned its charter from Rotary International in 1915, making it the 148th club to obtain that honor. Today it includes more than 250 members.
Each Thursday, the Rotary Club of Wilmington hosts meetings and often invites keynote speakers. On September 10, 2015, the Rotary featured a discussion on the legacy of September 11. Chaired by Marilyn Whittington, the event featured speaker Ralph Begleiter, a former CNN world affairs correspondent and current Rosenberg Professor of Communication at the University of Delaware. He discussed why the United States is unpopular in various parts of the world and implications this might have on the future of the country.
